When your account is ready to be activated you receive two emails from BJC – one with your BJC ID and another with your temporary password. You will need this information to set up your official accounts for most of our systems. Be sure to check your spam and junk email folders and filters to locate this information.
You can see if your BJC ID has been created by checking your Status Portal. Temporary passwords cannot be resent. You will need to contact BJC IT Service Desk for assistance (instructions are provided below) since this information is unique to you.
Below are instructions on how to set up your BJC accounts. Upon logging in to BJC systems for the first time, you must reset your password.
STEP ONE: View your Account Details
Your BJC User ID is used to access BJC computers and BJC applications including systems you will use throughout your studies such as Saba, Epic, and more. Some BJC applications, such as Microsoft Office 365, require your default BJC email address to log in.
STEP TWO: Reset your Password and Set up your Accounts.
Before you can access our systems, you will need to reset your password.
**Remember: Never share your password.
- Visit portal.office.com and enter your user ID in this format: [email protected]
- Enter your temporary password that was provided.
- You will be prompted to register for Microsoft Authenticator. Click Next.
- Download the Microsoft Authenticator App to your phone and click Next.
- Enter a phone number as your second registration method. This can be your mobile number or an office phone number.
- After successful registration, you will be prompted on the Update Password screen. Enter your temporary password and then a new password.
- After resetting, you will be redirected to www.office.com.
STEP THREE: Access Office 365 and Outlook
Once your password is changed and you're enrolled in Microsoft Authenticator, go to http://outlook.bjc.org. Sign into Office 365 and access the Outlook email system. Use your default BJC email address to sign in and select "BJC Healthcare" for the account. Verify that you can access Outlook. From this point forward, all official communication will be sent to your BJC email address. It is important to check this regularly and read all messages that are sent. You can also access OneDrive, Teams, and online versions of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel from http://outlook.bjc.org.
Troubleshooting
BJC continues to be on alert for cybersecurity-related risks to our operations and employees. One of the most prevalent types of attacks across the industry is compromised user credentials (user ID and/or password). Your password is one of the most important pieces of information you need to protect, as it can give criminals access to both BJC data and your personal information.
If you need assistance, please call the BJC IT Service Desk at (314) 362-4700 or (877) 362-4700. When you call, identify yourself as a Goldfarb student. You may be asked for your employee ID, as a student you do not have an employee ID. If the BJC IT Service Desk cannot resolve your issue, ask for the incident number. Email the incident number to the Goldfarb IT team at GSON Tech Support so that they can follow up.
You will have the following options to reset your password should you forget it:
- Self-Service Password Reset
Our self-service password reset process offers the best protection and the simplest and fastest way to reset your password. You can view instructions on how to use this process here. - Security-Assisted Password Reset
In the event you cannot use the self-service password reset, the Service Desk will submit a request to the Cybersecurity Team, who will evaluate and verify the request. As part of this process, the Cybersecurity Team may require your manager’s written approval and/or may contact you on your personal phone number or email address on file. This evaluation and approval process may take up to 24 hours.
For the safety of our College community and patients, the College requires various immunizations, tests, and certifications. The College tracks these requirements through a system called CastleBranch. This section outlines how to create your CastleBranch account and how to complete the required compliance items.
Dates and deadlines may vary, however, it is best to complete all requirements as soon as possible regardless of the due date to ensure a seamless student experience.
Proof of Compliance
Proof of immunizations must include your printed or typed full name, vaccine administration date, or titer result date. Prescriptions, paid receipts, records from a high school, or handwritten notes will not be accepted. All documents must be submitted and approved in CastleBranch by the designated deadlines. Deadlines are listed at the end of this document. Do not send your documents to staff at the College as they cannot approve or submit these documents for you.
Many of the immunizations and tests can be obtained for free or at cost at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Occupational Health (BJH Occ Health) office located on the 3rd floor of the Mid Campus Center, 4590 Children’s Place. They are open Monday-Friday 7 am-4 pm. Please call 314-454-7002 for more information about the availability of vaccines, titers, tests, and costs.
