Federal PLUS Loans
Direct PLUS Loans for Students
Parents of dependent students and graduate students may borrow under the Direct PLUS Loan program, which is lent by the U.S. Department of Education.
Repayment for these loans begins 60 days after the second disbursement. The maximum loan amount that you can receive equals the cost of attending Goldfarb School of Nursing minus any other financial aid you have already received.
Types of PLUS Loans
Parent PLUS loans are for dependent students who need additional funding. Graduate PLUS loans are for Master's degree programs, CRNA, or DNP/PhD students. Both are considered Direct PLUS loans. The U.S. Department of Education makes Direct PLUS Loans to eligible students at schools participating in the Direct Loan Program.
*You will be required to complete exit counseling once you complete your program, withdraw or drop below half-time attendance.
How to Apply
The graduate PLUS and parent PLUS loans require the successful submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form. This application is sent directly to the Federal Processor. After processing, a Student Aid Report (SAR) is sent to the student and an Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) is electronically sent to the financial aid office, provided our Title IV school code is listed on the FAFSA.
