September marked a “new beginning” in nurse education at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. 

The traditional model of nursing education at Barnes-Jewish has featured an instructor from Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing leading a group of eight students through a semester of clinical learning on a nursing unit. The Dedicated Education Units (DEU) will facilitate skills development for students and provide the opportunity for a team of nurses to prepare the next generation of nurses.

Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing's Nurse Anesthesia Program, in affiliation with the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis, received continued International Federation of Nurse Anesthetists (IFNA) Accreditation in May 2019, valid until May 2024, allowing for the program to transition from a MSN degree program to a DNP degree program.  It’s official. Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree that prepares students to care for patients and families in hospitals, in the community and a variety of other settings. Goldfarb offers two accredited program options available to students; upper division and accelerated. There is no better time than now to pursue a nursing degree. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, certain jobs within the nursing field are projected to add more than 64,000 jobs between 2016 and 2026, a 31 percent increase.

Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing’s Master of Science in Nursing program is ranked once again in this year’s “Best Nursing Schools: Master’s” list by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing’s Master of Science in Nursing program is ranked once again in this year’s “Best Nursing Schools: Master’s” list by U.S. News & World Report. Goldfarb’s master’s program is ranked 135 out of 189 ranked programs (562 programs in all) in the U.S. Last year, Goldfarb’s master’s program was ranked 146 out of 220 ranked programs by U.S.
