Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
Me. Instructors around me gave me different pieces, but I can't say I've modeled myself after just one person.

Looking back on your career, what are you most proud of?
My biggest accomplishment is my career's longevity—and that I still have fun every day.

What is the biggest need in the CRNA field right now?
We have an increasing need for knowledgeable people who have nursing experience in areas other than anesthesia.

Any advice for recent CRNA graduates?
Recent grads need to feel some confidence in their ability to make decisions with data to back it up, and balance that with the ability to ask pertinent questions of the surgeons and trusted peers when encountering situations that they have not experienced before. This will lower the stress of the unexpected and have a lasting effect on their career.
