Donating to the Watanabe-Henrichs Endowed Scholarship helps the next generation of nurse anesthesia leaders

Attending school full time without a steady stream of income can be financially challenging for any student. In 2005, Dr. Henrichs was speaking with a nurse anesthesia student who talked about the financial challenges she was facing while taking a break from working to attend the CRNA program. From that conversation, the vision of the Watanabe-Henrichs Endowed Scholarship was realized. For the next several years, through a series of grassroots efforts, Dr. Henrichs raised $25,000 for a scholarship. In 2013, thanks to a generous donation from WashU CRNA Tsugie Watanabe, the fund was fully endowed. To date, 21 nurse anesthesia students have received more than $98,000 in total scholarship funding.
