Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing is excited to announce a valuable new opportunity for registered nurses (RNs) looking to elevate their careers through the RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. It’s designed to support the RN Career Ladder and provide meaningful pathways for professional growth. Be sure to tell your family and friends.

A path to career advancement with flexibility and support

Goldfarb’s RN to BSN program is tailored for working professionals and designed to be completed in one year. Online and built to fit a working adult’s schedule, it allows nurses to balance their education with their work and personal lives while advancing their careers.

“Goldfarb’s RN to BSN program will enhance the professionalism of nursing by supporting RNs who have not yet earned a BSN, while also helping us prepare for the projected nursing shortage expected in 2030 as baby boomers retire,” says Tommye Austin, PhD, MBA, RN, BJC HealthCare chief nursing executive.

On average, BSNs earn $17,000 more annually than RNs with an associate degree in nursing.

Why choose Goldfarb?

Goldfarb’s RN to BSN curriculum is structured to build on existing nursing education and experience, expanding skills in evidence-based practice, leadership, population health, health promotion, and emerging health care technologies.

It's also aligned with BJC’s RN Career Ladder, which offers new professional growth and advancement opportunities for nurses who provide direct patient care. It’s an established path that RNs with an associate degree must complete to be promoted within BJC HealthCare.

Additional benefits:

  • Fast-track completion: One year (three terms full-time).
  • Online: Flexible format.
  • Affordable: BJC employees receive a 20% tuition discount, plus up to $4,500 per calendar year in tuition reimbursement for full-time BJC employees. Talk to someone in the Goldfarb business office to understand how these discounts can apply to you.

Katie Williams, a recently graduated RN, is excited about the opportunity to continue her education through the BSN program. Currently working at Christian Hospital on an oncology floor, Katie just earned her associate degree in nursing (ADN) last month but has her eyes on the future.

“I want a BSN degree because it provides a strong foundation of knowledge, critical thinking, and leadership skills that are essential for delivering high-quality patient care,” Katie explains.

Her long-term goal? Becoming a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA).

Katie sees the BSN as a crucial steppingstone in her journey.

“A BSN will help me grow as a nurse and prepare me for leadership or specialized roles like becoming a CRNA,” she adds.

Continuing her degree at Goldfarb is an attractive option.

“It’s convenient for me,” she says, “and they offer financial support, scholarships, and tuition assistance.”
